Refund & Cancellation Policy
Every booking made through LIFTI is governed by the fare rules of the airline that issued the ticket. This page explains how those rules are applied, what we can refund, and how long it takes.

1. How airline fares work
LIFTI is an online travel agency. When you book, the ticket is issued by the airline or by the supplier that holds the fare — we do not set the cancellation rules, and we cannot waive them.
Each fare carries its own conditions, and those conditions are shown to you before you pay: the fare card on the Select Fare step states whether the fare is refundable and whether a cancellation fee applies, and the same terms are repeated in the price summary at checkout. If a fare is marked non-refundable, no refund of the airline portion is possible once the ticket is issued, regardless of how soon you cancel.
2. Cancelling a booking
- Cancellation must be requested before the scheduled departure time. A request made after departure is treated as a no-show (section 6).
- Send the request to info@lifti.io with your booking reference or PNR. We act on the airline's side as soon as we receive it.
- The airline's own cancellation charge is deducted from whatever it returns. That charge is set by the airline and varies by fare, route and how close to departure you cancel.
- Promotional, discounted and low-cost-carrier fares are frequently non-refundable in full. Check the fare conditions shown at booking before cancelling.
3. What is and is not refundable
| Charge | Refundable? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Airline fare and taxes | Per fare rules | Refunded to the extent the airline permits, less its cancellation charge. |
| Seats, baggage and meals | Per airline | Add-ons bought through the airline follow that airline's own rules. |
| Travel insurance add-on | Per policy terms | Where offered and accepted at checkout; governed by the cover's own terms. |
| Payment processing fee | Generally not | Levied by the payment gateway and not returned to us on a refund. |
| LIFTI service / booking fee | Generally not | Covers issuing and servicing the booking, which has already been done. |
Where a booking is cancelled because of an airline cancellation, a significant schedule change, or a failure on our side, our own fees are returned in full.
4. Refund timelines
A refund only starts once the airline confirms it. We cannot release money the airline has not yet returned.
| Stage | Typical time |
|---|---|
| We submit the request to the airline | Within 1–2 business days of receiving it |
| Airline assesses and approves | Varies by airline; commonly 5–15 business days |
| Funds reach your original payment method | 7–21 business days in total |
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method only. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card or account.
- Bank and card-network settlement can add several days beyond the airline's approval, which is outside our control.
- Refunds are made in the currency the booking was charged in; if your bank converts it back, the rate on the day may differ from the rate you paid at.
5. Payment taken but no ticket issued
Occasionally a payment succeeds while the airline fails to issue the ticket. If that happens, contact us straight away — do not book again for the same passenger and route until we have confirmed the status, or you may end up holding two bookings.
- We first attempt to complete the ticketing on the same booking.
- If the fare is no longer available, the full amount is refunded — including our own fees.
- Where a payment was authorised but never captured, the hold is released by your bank, typically within 5–10 business days.
6. Overpayment and chargeback disputes
If a payment is processed for an amount greater than the booking total due to user error or technical malfunction (for example, paying PKR 100,000 instead of PKR 1,000), the following process applies:
- Immediate notification: You must contact info@lifti.io immediately upon discovering the overpayment, providing your booking reference and payment details.
- LIFTI refund of service charges: We will promptly issue a refund of our own booking fee and any payment processing fees for the excess amount.
- Refund to payment method: The overpaid amount, less the airline fare that was already charged, will be refunded to your original payment method within 7–21 business days, subject to bank processing times.
- Bank chargeback: If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or card issuer for the disputed amount before we have released the refund, we will cooperate fully with the bank's investigation. However, chargebacks incur processing fees that we cannot absorb — you will be held responsible for these fees in addition to any airline penalties that may arise from the ticket cancellation.
- Prevention: We recommend reviewing the price summary carefully before confirming payment. The total amount is clearly displayed on the checkout page and in the payment confirmation.
7. No-show and unused tickets
If a passenger does not travel and the booking was not cancelled before departure, the ticket is treated as a no-show. Refund eligibility then rests entirely with the airline; many fares retain no value at all after a no-show, while some permit a refund of unused taxes. We will request whatever the fare allows.
8. Date changes and corrections
- Date and route changes are subject to the airline's change fee plus any fare difference.
- Passenger names must match the travel document exactly. Airlines treat a name change as a re-issue, and some do not permit it at all.
- Please check names, dates, routes and passport details before paying. LIFTI cannot absorb airline penalties arising from details entered incorrectly at booking.
9. E-ticket delivery
- All tickets are issued electronically and emailed to the address given at booking.
- Most are delivered within a few minutes of successful payment.
- Some bookings need airline verification and take longer. If your e-ticket has not arrived within a few hours, check your spam folder and then contact support.
- Provide a working email address and phone number — they are how we reach you if the airline changes your flight.
10. How to request a refund
- Email info@lifti.io from the address used for the booking.
- Include the booking reference or PNR, the passenger name, and the reason for cancelling.
- We confirm receipt, submit to the airline, and tell you what the fare allows.
- Once the airline approves, the refund is released to your original payment method.
Email info@lifti.io with your booking reference, or reach us through the contact page.
This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where a fare rule set by an airline conflicts with anything above, the airline's rule governs the airline portion of your booking.
